A STORY OF PLAYFUL INSPIRATION

Last year, as I was building wood frames for some of my paintings, I saw the scrap piecs of wood laying there, and in a moment of playfulness, I started arranging them, much as I had done as a child with my wood blocks.  Within moments, the pieces had become a wonderful "cathedral" with spires and angles, negative spaces and shadows.  I then decided to paint the various blocks in rich, bright colors, highlighting the shapes, angles even more.

I gave that first "cathedral" to a priest friend for Christmas.  He was thrilled with the beauty of the simple sculpture and told me how people visiting his office were so captivated by it and had asked where they could find one like it.

So with the encouragement of friends, I've decided to offer these sculptures for sale to the public.  Understand there is no pattern for these.  Each is created individually and therefore unique and one-of-a-kind.  The prices reflect the differences in size and complexity of design. On the website you can view the four sculptures that are currently available.  Each one is signed, numbered and dated.  As these are sold I will create more versions and add them to the website.
