Company History
Pilgrim Music was founded in 2002 by composer Dan Schutte after hearing time and again from "folks in the pew" how often they were frustrated with not being able to find his music, or that of other well known artists and composers, in the stores.  There are many songs that have been standards, not only of worship, but have also become a part of the personal prayer to many Christians in their journey of faith.   In response, Dan developed this site as a vehicle for folks to find music they might enjoy for their personal prayer, or simply to enjoy around the house or in the car as they go about their day.  Much of the music you'll find on this site has been personaly selected by Dan.  We are continutally increasing the number of collections we offer as we search for wonderful new music for prayer.  

Dan Schutte Biography
Dan Schutte has been composing music for worship for over 30 years. Many of Dan’s most celebrated pieces, including "Here I Am, Lord", "City Of God" and "Sing A New Song" come from his years of collaboration as one of the founding members of the St. Louis Jesuits.

While Dan's compositional style has continued to develop, his more recent pieces, such as "Table of Plenty," "Holy Darkness," "Sing O Sing" and his popular Mass of God’s Promise, still exhibit that enduring ability to reach into people’s hearts and draw them into prayer. His music continues to be a vibrant part of standard repertoire for Christian worship worldwide.

With two master's degrees from the Graduate Theological Union in Berkeley, California, as well as two honorary doctoral degrees, Dan continues his compositional work and writing about spirituality.  Currently he is Composer in Residence at the University of San Francisco. He travels extensively throughout the United States and abroad, offering concerts, workshops and retreats..  Be sure to visit his own website at www.danschutte.com for more information about Dan and his workshops and concerts.
